VACANCY – Refuge and Resettlement Practitioner
Location: Leicestershire
Length: March 2022 (potential of extension)
Salary: £11.20 per Hour Inclusive of Holiday Pay
Hours: 35 hours (9-5 Mon – Fri)
Venn Group are currently recruiting for a Refuge and Resettlement Practitioner to be based in Leicestershire. Said candidates must act as the single point of contact for service users in the refuge and once families move into local independent housing; to provide support to families; to promote children’s needs and provide dedicated support to them.
Responsibilities of the role:
- To assess the needs of the service users and develop appropriate support plans, including health and wellbeing needs
- Support families in accessing broader services, including housing, benefits, and education
- Identify where children, young people and vulnerable adults are at potential risk and follow Safeguarding Procedures
- Work alongside the non-abusing parent in developing their parental skills and confidence
- Provide fun, engaging and learning opportunities for children within the refuge
- To be the point of contact for children young and young people within refuge
- Undertake all monitoring and report regularly on progress, including writing
- regular updates
- Assist in identifying gaps in service provision, and developing approaches to fill such gaps
- To liaise closely with local partners, agencies, and key funders
Essential experience/requirements:
- Experience within supporting those fleeing domestic violence
- Enhanced DBS
