Venn Group are working with an FE Organisation in the West Midlands to appoint a crucial role in the development of SEND Students. The Head of High Needs / SENCo role requires a candidate with experience of leading a large team with up to 100 staff, managing multiple tasks and teams whilst working with external agencies. - Lead and manage a large team of 90- 100 staff, including teachers, specialist SEN support staff, Job Coaches and LSAs, ensuring timely completion of HR processes such as performance development reviews, learning reviews, probationary reviews, absence management and recruitment.
- Take a lead role in working with Local Authorities to ensure the high needs top up funding is in place and utilised effectively to meet the needs of a growing cohort.
- Oversee the timetabling of learning support staff across the college, working closely with learning support coordinators and curriculum managers to ensure support is effective and appropriate to meet the needs of a growing cohort of students with high needs.
- Oversee the learning support for students with SEND across the college, including the implementation of personalised SOW in vocational areas and provision for frequent SEND meetings in vocational areas to promote collaborative working to support a range of students with SEND and additional needs.
- Oversee the management and accessibility of SEND information for students across the college, ensuring profiles, risk assessments, therapy reports, behaviour support plans and EHCPs are uploaded and available for teachers to access and implement
