SEND Case Reviewer/SEN Case Officer Roles
We are currently working with multiple public sector organisations who are in need of the interim support of SEN Professionalsto join their SEND Team for three months initially on a remote working basis.
Rates: £200-£220p/d (Inside IR35)
3 month initial contracts initially
Start: ASAP
SEND Case Reviewer Key Responsibilities:
- Administer outstanding Annual Reviews
- Make changes to EHCP and issue Amendment Notices
- Manage any changes proposed by parents
- Manage any content of EHCP’s issues
- Consider any placement change proposals and case manage activity relating to change of placement requests
- Issue final amended plans
- Update ONE system and close down outstanding activity
- Forward plan on overview of case relating to content or placement issues that may result in dispute mediation
SEN Case Officer Key Responsibilities:
- Liaison with colleagues from a range of agencies on matters relating to special educational needs and the needs of individual pupils
- Managing casework throughout the statutory assessment process from first referral to the completion of the process
- Writing Education Health and Care Plans
- Amending existing EHCPs as required
- Contribution to panel decisions on provision and placement
- Preparing reports /papers for a range of panels as required
- Attending Annual, Interim and emergency Reviews
- Working in partnership with parents, children and young people, and schools to ensure pupils needs are met appropriately including those pupils at risk of exclusion
- Preparing for SEN Tribunals as required
- Monitoring the use of funding within schools for pupils who have Education Health and Care Plans
- Assisting in identification of areas for service development including delivering training and supporting colleagues in schools, colleges and other settings, on processes and procedures (INSET)
- Contributing to the Directorate’s SEN development linking policy to practice
- Following and contributing to Child Protection procedures as appropriate
Essential experience
- Considerable experience of working in the SEND service of a Children’s Services Directorate
- A thorough working knowledge of relevant and current SEND legislation and practice guidance, especially the SEND Code of Practice 2015
- Ability to draft/amend Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP)
