Interim SEND Operational Lead
Based: London (Hybrid working)
Length: 6-9 months initially

We are currently supporting a London Local Authority recruit an interim SEND Operational Lead to work closely with the Head of SEND and lead on innovation within the directorate.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim SEND Operational Lead:
- Develop a timely process to clear the backlog of complaints
- Working with the team manager to clear complaints in a timely manner
- Developing a coherent training programme for EHCs
- Reviewing current resourcing needs, identifying skills gaps and making recommendations
- Providing senior leadership support as and when required
- Forge strong relationships with schools and settings and with Education and other Council colleagues
Skills and experience required of the Interim SEND Operational Lead:
- Leading operational service improvement in the SEND arena
- Able to support and mentor the current Head of SEND
- Working closely with the EHC Team Manager, has the ability to manage and hold to account a diverse team, including a number of new staff, and drive improvements in statutory timescales
- Can manage and reduce the flow of complaints especially around timeliness and placements
- Can forge strong relationships with schools and settings and with Education and other Council colleagues
