Hourly Rate: £17 – £20.99 via umbrella
Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Interim Server Support Engineer to join our highly esteemed public sector client in Bristol for a 3-month contract initially.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Maintain expertise in the operation of the organisation’s Hubs and the various supporting computer and communication systems, and use this knowledge to ensure that Information and Communications Technology resources are used to enable its effective operation
- Apply this to existing systems and potential enhancements as well as identifying new requirements
- Provide on-site and telephone support to systems in use throughout the organisation
- Install, commission and maintain computerised hardware and software systems, networks and telecommunications solutions
- Maintain effective systems of data integrity and security and ensure that comprehensive backup and disaster recovery procedures exist and are operated
- Creation and completion of Preventative Maintenance Routines to support Service Catalogue items ensuring availability
- Liaise with suppliers in obtaining quotations for goods and services appropriate to the department
- Organise enhancements and upgrades to existing applications as and when required through change control
Key technical experiences include:
- Experience of installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems
- Experience of maintaining a Microsoft Hyper-V environment
- A good understanding of server hardware, including storage technologies
