Job Summary:
Develop simple-to-use applications and reports, while supporting, maintaining, and improving existing systems. Our existing systems have been developed using either T-SQL, C#, or VBA, but are primarily T-SQL based. The department’s key objective is to create (or convert to) web-based applications.
The role will also involve managing the setup and access to the Association’s databases, assisting with the monitoring of data integrity, carrying out data analysis and ETL processes as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce accurate, robust and attractive documents and reports through SQL Server Reporting Services.
2. Create simple to use, well commented, and maintainable software, adhering to best practice and accepted code standards.
3. To test new systems thoroughly before going live, and provide training to users before and after implementation.
4. To provide and maintain user manuals and documentation of the coding, setup, and use of all software, reports, and processes created.
5. Maintain a sufficient understanding of the use of different databases throughout the Association, from both the front and back ends to be able to talk to staff about their function and provide support as necessary.
6. Keep in sync with the Software Development Team using messaging, email, and source control.
7. Work as closely as required with other teams, particularly IT, Business Support, Business Information, and Business Processes.
8. Complete all assigned Helpdesk support tickets to a high standard.
9. To carry out necessary preparatory work, and to provide accurate and correctly formatted files for uploading into various databases.
10. To keep up to date with changes made to the Association’s databases and making users aware of key developments that may affect them.
11. To co-operate with the periodic review of this job description.
