A research organisation based in London is looking to appoint a Sourcing Manager on a permanent basis to start as soon as possible. Reporting to the Head of Sourcing this role will instrumental in developing supplier relationships as well as delivering strategic sourcing initiatives. The position will be paying between £50-60k per annum commensurate with experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of the organisation’s sourcing strategy
- Delivering a range of projects including tenders, negotiations, cost-reduction for existing contracts within agreed categories
- Delivering departmental savings as agreed with Finance including relevant cost reduction (against budget) and cost avoidance targets
- Acting as lead for agreed sourcing categories/initiatives; Scientific Equipment, Facilities Management, IT and Corporate Services
- SRM of top 20 – 50 strategic suppliers to identify efficiencies and savings opportunities
- Implementing frameworks and contracts for transparency, price certainty and efficiency of service delivery
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Extensive strategic sourcing experience with demonstrable knowledge of the management and delivery of sourcing initiatives, projects and savings
- A strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong analytical skills, proficient in cost/benefit analysis, and total cost of ownership modelling
- A good understanding of contract law
- Degree qualified with MCIPS status or studying toward
- Exposure to working in a scientific/medical research, life sciences or academic environments – desirable
- Familiarity with OJEU processes and procedures – desirable
