Job description: A Local Authority in West Yorkshire is looking for Strategy and Reward Manager to provide professional expertise for the organisation. The role is to start on a temporary basis working on a 37 hour per week basis. The Local Authority will be offering flexible working with homeworking available.
Duties:
- Leading a high performing team providing expert advice on the Council’s People Strategy and Reward strategy
- Ensuring that the Council understands how the People Strategy enables delivery of Council Plan outcomes and act as the Service lead on matters relating to People Strategy
- Ensuring that a modern, fit for purpose Reward strategy is developed and consistently applied across the Council ensuring that the Council is able to equitably recognise the contribution of its employees
- Leading and acting as a role model on Council values and behaviours to enable a supportive and inclusive working culture where all staff are encouraged, supported and developed irrespective of their background
- Ensuring that the People Strategy is developed and embedded across the Council, that data is captured to assess the effectiveness of the strategy and that appropriate changes and updates are made to ensure always that the People Strategy is working to ensure the workforce is able to deliver on Council Plan outcomes
- Working collaboratively with HR Specialist Service Leads to support the delivery of the operating model and development of the organisation through interventions such as, but not limited to, new models of employment, deployment and flexibility and ensuring the development and delivery of workforce OD strategies and delivery plans
- Working with stakeholders within the Workforce and HR Service to ensure that Leaders, Managers, Employees and other stakeholders as may be necessary, fully understand the Council’s People Strategy and Service Offering and it is embedded and sustainable over the long term
- Ensuring that advice and guidance provided by the team on national and local pay agreements and flexible benefits is high quality, and accessible to all employees. And also ensuring that the advice provided by colleagues in Workforce/HR Advisory and Operations is also of a high quality

Hourly Rate: Negotiable
