A reputable Housing Association is currently recruiting for a Support Worker in High Wycombe for their service, which specialises in supporting homeless individuals and assisting them in becoming more independent and moving onto permanent accommodation
Length: Three Months, ongoing
Location: High Wycombe
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Monday to Friday – mix of early shifts 7:15am – 3:15pm, day shifts 9:00am – 5:00pm and late shifts 1:30pm – 9:30pm
Working every other weekend
Rate of Pay: £14.70 per hour via an Umbrella Company
Overtime Rate: £19.11 per hour via an Umbrella Company
The position involves:
- Delivering individual support packages to 16 clients reflecting their needs
- Providing housing support to clients involving reporting repairs, chasing the repairs, turning the voids room around
- Writing and following support plans and risk assessments
- Teaching service users life skills and supporting independence
- Giving advice on benefits available to homeless service users
- Signposting clients to relevant support agencies
- Helping clients to engage in group activities and events
- Booking in new customers
- Completing safety check within the building such as fire alarms
Essential requirements:
- Previous experience working within a customer focussed role
- An Enhanced DBS with the adults list checked from within the last year
- Experience of key working individuals and following support plans
- Basic IT skills such as Outlook, Word and Excel
