Support Worker – Mental Health
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established mental health charity based in Suffolk for a Support Worker to help vulnerable adults in their supported living service.
Start: ASAP
Type: Temporary with the possibility to go permanent
Length: 8 weeks on going
Location: Suffolk
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:30pm/12:30-8:00pm and weekends 9:00am – 4:30pm
Daily duties:

Working with vulnerable adults within supported living and community based mental health support services

Supporting service users through their mental health recovery and managing their emotional and practical needs

Helping service users to manage their mental health needs including drug and alcohol and challenging behaviour

Actively involving service users in developing their support plans to meet their aspirations and needs

Providing advice on tenancy issues and other housing related matters, welfare benefits, financial and budgeting matters

Developing close links with the local community to help them build social confidence and to create greater understanding of mental ill health

Signposting to other support agencies as appropriate including counselling services, drug and alcohol services and housing services
Essential requirements:

An enhanced DBS with the adults’ list checked within three years or the willingness to obtain one

A full valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle is preferred but not essential

An enthusiastic attitude and keen interest in supporting vulnerable people with mental health needs
