Venn Group is working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an Interim Systems Support and Development Officer for the council’s parking service. The Systems Support and Development Officer will lead and own best practice for parking services data architecture, to define and deliver data solutions, and to act as lead on major parking IT projects.
The Systems Support and Development Officer will also be responsible for delivering management information in the form of dashboards which support regular performance monitoring on operational service KPI’s and IT contract performance reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Lead on maintaining and updating underlying configuration data related to the parking system - this includes all data related to PCNs, permits, LLPG, parking policy and pricing and letter templates
- Identifying and managing parking IT risks and issues that impact business outcomes
- Consult and work with internal and external IT staff in the implementation and maintenance of software, testing upgrades, version control and compatibility with associated hardware
- Act as gatekeeper for parking data, managing data integrity, and ensuring data is accurate before utilised for analysis and reporting
- Proactively work with Operational Managers, Senior Management team and the parking system provider to ensure that information provisions are tailored to their priorities and supports their decision-making requirements
- Support service development and income generation by ensuring data capture and flows are built into service reporting specifications
- Understand the organisational reporting requirements and propose configuration solutions that meet these
- To lead on producing operational KPI’s, parking system contract performance reporting and Parking Quality Assurance forum
- Provide parking data in formats including dashboards, graphs, charts and reports
- Documenting internal financial reconciliation processes
- Training users and creating instruction manuals for new or improved systems
Required experience:
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, Macros)
- Basic knowledge of a coding language (SQL, Python, R, VBA etc).
- Experience with business intelligence or statistical software packages (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, SAS, SPSS etc)
- Adept at presenting complex information to a range of audiences and have experience at quality assuring data sets and statistics
- Strong analytical & numerical skills and experience of working with large data sets and identifying trends
