The Independent Chair (IC) of the Infant Mortality Task Force
We are currently working with a well-established organisation who are in need of an experienced Public Health Professional to act as The Independent Chair (IC) of the Infant Mortality Task Force (Task Force) for at least the next 12 months, working 4 days a month.
This is a Non-Executive Role, where you will be expected to bring an external, independent perspective to the Task Force, assist with strategy and help develop the action plan to address Perinatal and Infant Mortality across the City.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Chair in a Non-Executive capacity and take part in strategy meetings related to the task force
- Bring an external, independent perspective and advise the Taskforce accordingly
- Assist in setting and revising perinatal and infant mortality strategy and objectives, providing recommendations for the Health Overview and Scrutiny
- Oversee the HOSC (Health Overview Scrutiny Committee)
- Review Recommendations on Infant Mortality being achieved
- Challenge the members of the Taskforce on their decision making
- Scrutinise the performance of the action plan against the goals and objectives
- Advise on managing the risks identified within the action plan
- Advise on systems which support governance and the integrity and quality of information
- Provide access to useful contacts and networks to help develop new activities in line with the perinatal and infant mortality strategy
Key Requirements
- Enhanced DBS
- Ability to prepare and present briefing papers/reports/business cases to a variety of audience
- Substantial experience of managing relationships with wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, external partners and citizens to shape Public Health outcomes
- An understanding of data security and confidentiality
- Experience of law and/or corporate governance
- Experience of audit and risk management
- Experience of Communication and social marketing
- Experience of public relations
- Experience of operations management
- Expertise relating to the topic of perinatal and infant mortality
Start – ASAP
Duration: 12 month contract initially
Work Pattern: 4 days a month
Rate: £1000 per day
