Transformation Portfolio Manager
We are working with an amazing Charity who are looking for a Transformation Portfolio Manager to manage the portfolio of strategic change projects which support the delivery of the Charities strategies.
Core deliverables of this post include:
- To establish and implement appropriate governance frameworks, processes and templates for portfolio, programme, and project management (P3M), using established best practice methodologies
- To ensure a register of programmes and projects is maintained, including their status, priority, strategic alignment, and risk profile
- To ensure each project develops and maintains the project artefacts (plans, RAID logs, financial plans, etc.) and actively manage progress against plan
- To oversee the production of management information and reporting to programme and portfolio boards
- To chair regular meetings with project managers to monitor and review project delivery against plan, and to provide challenge on overall project performance, agreeing any necessary remedial actions
- To support business planning for annual portfolio of strategic change projects and in-year portfolio reviews, including budgeting and project prioritisation
- To manage the central project management resource, including the allocation of project managers to projects, and the recruitment and development of staff
Required skills/experience includes:
- Proven ability to successfully manage a portfolio or significant programme of projects
- Having worked in a programme or portfolio management office, coordinating delivery of a group of projects
- Worked on programmes involving significant business change and managing projects through their whole lifecycle
- Strong interpersonal skills, including building productive relationships with colleagues at all levels, stakeholders, and suppliers
- Strong communication skills: ability to present both written and verbal information via presentations, briefings and reports, and to run meetings and facilitate workshops
- Sufficient expertise and credibility to advise project leaders and sponsors and to assist senior management
- A professional qualification in project management (e.g. APM, PMQ, PPQ or Chartered Project Professional, MSP or PRINCE2) or equivalent experience in using project/programme management methodologies
Location: London
Salary: £51,970 (rises to £55,515 after a year)
