Waking Nights Domestic Abuse Practitioner – Immediately Required
Our client, an Essex based independent charity is seeking an experienced Waking Nights Domestic Abuse Practitioner to provide proactive, practical and emotional support for women residing in their refuge.
Position: Waking Nights Support Worker
Period: 2 months (with potential extension)
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8PM – 8AM
Location: Harlow, Essex
Rate: £11 - £16 per hour
Car: Desirable
DBS: Enhanced
Responsibilities:

To accept referrals and commence initial need and risk assessments and monitor them within the specified timescales

To manage own caseload providing support to clients depending on the risk and need

To regularly review client’s support plans based on their needs and preferences

To ensure clients are supported to live safely and have 24-hour access to support in the event of crisis

To work closely with external agencies, advocating on behalf of the client and signposting clients to appropriate agencies

To ensure that all safeguarding measures are delivered in respect of the client, strictly adhering to organisation’s policies and procedures

To encourage and empower clients to participate in training and other specialist programmes provided in house or by community partners

To maintain excellent confidential records, provide detailed handover reports to colleagues and appropriate referral information to external agencies

To ensure that all monitoring date is completed on time
Essential experience:
-
Experience in working with vulnerable clients and managing a caseload

Have a good understanding of domestic abuse on victims and safety planning

Safeguarding Adults Level 2 or demonstrable equivalent qualification

Enhanced DBS
