Citrix Application Packager- AVP

A Global Banking client requires a Citrix Application Packager to be responsible for the mapping, analysis, software packaging successful delivery and lifecycle management of numerous business critical applications across a predominantly Citrix environment.

Key Job Functions:

Discovery and reporting of current application estate – working closely with the project team, service owners and the business in order to understand the context of the applications

Package using Microsoft App-V and Windows Installer technologies to the organisation’s standards, in readiness for delivery for the VDI and desktop estates (Windows 10/Server 2016)

Deploy applications into the QA environment

Document and address feedback from QA testers in readiness for sign-off and go-live in production

Provide day 1 support for applications migrated to the new platform

Strong practical experience with Microsoft App-V 4, 5.x, MSI etc
Strong practical experience with command-line tools, VB Scripting, PowerShell
Strong practical experience of working with Microsoft SCCM for delivery of packaged content to desktop/server
Excellent understanding of Windows client / server operating systems and packaging for VDI and desktop environments (including Windows 7/10/2008/2012/2016)
Good understanding of User Profile Management tools e.g. Citrix UPM, Microsoft FSLogix, etc.
Working experience with applications hosted on Citrix XenApp/ XenDesktop infrastructure
Strong experience Ivanti UWM including, Environment Manager, Application Control and Performance Manager
Graduate calibre

Specific Experience and Qualifications:

Excellent, demonstrable experience of enterprise appropriate packaging technologies and methodologies - such as MSI, App-V and SCCM
Excellent knowledge of scripting and automation technologies – Powershell, VBScript etc
Advanced application troubleshooting, performance & tuning/optimization skills
Good knowledge of Ivanti AppSense Products (Application and Enterprise Manager)
A proven track record of participating in projects within financial institutions (or other heavily regulated industry)
