Contract – 6 Months initially

A position has arisen for a Configuration Specialist within a large Defence organisation based in Yeovil, to provide the focal point for Configuration Management across all UK training outputs. The role requires effective interaction with the internal Training stakeholders, the Suppliers, the Customers, Integrated Project Team (IPT) and other company functions as required to achieve the primary purpose.


Successful candidates must have a valid SC clearance

Your duties will include:

  • You will lead, update & maintain product configuration through the project lifecycle to achieve the required contracted deliverables.

  • You will support the Simulation Technical Data Service (STDS) team to ensure that data packs currency are aligned, captured, maintained and controlled for delivery to suppliers in accordance with the project schedule

  • You will coordinate input to the change management process, assisting and collating stakeholders input to project impact and any required modifications to the delivery plan

  • You will manage the development and delivery of Configuration Management CDRLs in accordance with the schedule

  • You will update and maintain the configuration control repository for all delivered systems

  • You will lead the review of Supplier provided Configuration Management products, within the required timescale for comment


The successful candidate should have:

  • A valid SC clearance or be eligible for one

  • Qualification and/or suitable level of Configuration control experience, preferably in delivering complex Equipment and Software within the Aerospace industry

  • General knowledge of helicopter training and operations – both military and civil

  • Knowledge of industry standards including: MIL-STD-1521B (USAF), SAE EIA-649C, MIL-HDBK-61A; and MIL-STD-973
