Job Description

Venn Group is currently working alongside a leading Travel & Tourism operator, to recruit a Cyber Security & Support Analyst. The role will deal with 1st and 2nd level support incidents related to cyber security and general IT support, and will focus primarily on monitoring and resolving cyber security incidents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Performing eyes-on glass monitoring for cyber security incidents
• Handling/escalating IT security issues
• Identifying attacks from both internal and external sources on a global scale
• Operating and optimising security tooling and products, including anti-virus, firewall encryption technologies, network security (IDS/IPS/Firewalls), logging/auditing, event/incident management, privileged access management, authentication and authorisation
• Performing periodic security vulnerabilities assessments and penetration testing activities
• Delivering and providing support; aiding users and clients in a proactive and structured way
• Maintaining and updating systems when required and making sure they are running smoothly
• Installing software applications and system upgrades to desktop and laptop users
• Dealing with day-to-day IT activities including new hire set up, video conferences and office moves
• Monitoring the ticketing system to resolve requests
• Providing hardware and software troubleshooting support
• Making proactive efforts to improve IT knowledge
• Getting involved with internal discussions and being willing to contribute to the continuous process of the company’s service improvement (ITIL)
• Taking responsibility for ongoing personal and professional development
• Supporting the remediation phase (patching, reporting and tracking activities)

Essential Skills Include:  
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Network Engineering
• Good working knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall (certification is an advantage)
• Experience of working in a SOC environment
• Considerable knowledge of encryption algorithms and Penetration testing tools
• Network protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP
• Good knowledge of Windows 10 (essential), Active Directory, Office365, Exchange, Windows Server 2012-2016, Network switches, Routers and firewalls, Alcatel Systems, Mobile - Android & iOS
• IOC detection techniques
• OT (ICS and SCADA) basic skills plus certifications in either ISC, ISACA, SANS, EC-COUNCIL
