Job Description

We are currently working with a client based in Solihull who are seeking the interim support of an experienced SEN Case Administrator/ EHCP Coordinator to join their busy team. This is a great opportunity to work for one for one of the most established public sector organisations in the Midlands and to assist them during a challenging time.


Responsibilities:

  • To act as a  named  Education  Health  Care  Plan  Co-ordinator  on behalf of the  Council by liaising on, negotiating, advising  and coordinating  support  to children, young people and their  families  from professionals and partners organisations / services (e.g.  Schools, Health, Social Care, Advocacy services, Third sector, Primary Care Trusts and others)  from the point of referral to ceasing  a child or young person’s  Education, Health and  Care  plan, or Statement of special educational need.
  • To manage a caseload of children and young people with Statements of special educational needs, Education, Health and Care plans, and children and young people undergoing a statutory assessment under section 36
  • To consider the special educational needs of each individual child/ young person being assessed and determine whether the need is such that they are eligible for a EHC
  • To create high quality, outcomes focused, and personalised Education, Health and Care plans, within statutory timescales.
  • To facilitate the participation of the child, young person, and parents and carer
  • To manage requests for personal budgets, in respect of educational provision. To support the Council with the conversion of existing statements of Special Educational Needs and Learning Difficulty Assessments to Education, Health and Care plans.
  • To prepare and attend the SEN panel to seek decisions on requests for statutory assessment, and whether the local authority will proceed to making an Education, Health and Care plan, following a statutory assessment.

Rate: £26per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Up to 12months – Full Time
