Permanent Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development

A position has arisen for a Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development to join the growing management department of a leading Content and Production agency in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing and growing the marketing and business development sector by winning new clients. The role will have a direct report into the Board of Directors and will include line management.

The successful candidate will have worked in the media sector within advertising, marketing or production for 10 years+ with international experience.

Location: Central London
Salary: TBC (includes OTE, bonus and benefit structure)
Duration: Start ASAP

Daily duties would include:

  • Sitting on the group’s Executive Committee alongside fellow Managing Directors/Heads of Business unit, Finance Director as well as business owners
  • Setting strategic sales and marketing objectives for the business, in line with the strategy set by the board
  • Managing and developing the new business pipeline in line with these objectives
  • Reporting and presenting upwards to the group, to peers and to the delivery teams
  • Collaborating with peers within the Executive Committee to develop new business functions whilst supporting others who lead business units
  • Developing new sales strategies and products to promote and sell-in the companies services to new and existing clients
  • Developing and implementing a marketing, PR and social media strategy in order to drive B2B connections and raise the company’s profile
  • Managing the relationships between the procurement teams, industry consultants and influencers to develop the brand profile and identify new opportunities
  • Working alongside the Executive Committee to design delivery process models and change management processes to ensure that new business is on-boarded effectively
  • Setting up supply chain partnerships and overseeing  key hires
  • Developing and maintaining financial forecasts

Essential skills/knowledge includes:

  • Strong under-graduate grades demonstrating a high level of numeracy and literacy
  • University degree or college diploma to a high standard
  • A self starter with proven track record of developing new business, building a brand and delivering profitable revenue streams
  • Experienced in leading and growing teams
  • Business and thought leadership – industry aware, connected, strategic and forward looking
  • Operational leadership - financial and commercial, familiar with financial management and reporting, specifically managing a P&L, cash flow and understanding management accounts
  • Be comfortable, skilled and successful in creating RFI, RFP responses and leading pitching to win new work
