Our client, a leading Defence and Security organisation, require an IT Support Engineer to be based onsite with their customer in London. You will be joining a team responsible for supporting systems and associated applications developed for Government bodies. You will be providing support across multiple sites and join the on-call team rota to provide out of hours support.

 

In order to be successful, it is essential that you have the following experience:

  • Application Support

  • VMWare Support

  • Windows and Linux Server administration

  • Experience with Database Administration (SQL), Elastic Stack and working knowledge of ITIL are highly advantageous, but not essential

 

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Support Manager, troubleshooting a range of application and system issues and working with the customer to develop solutions

  • Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to Service Desk staff and supporting the VMWare infrastructure across multiple sites

  • Working with the customer’s own Technology Team and systems/applications suppliers to resolve issues

  • Attending working groups with the customer and supporting the Manager with providing quotes for additional ad-hoc work
