Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – £35 to £45 per hour umbrella – East midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are recruiting for a Locum Contracts Lawyer for a Local Authority based in the East Midlands.

Applications are welcome from qualified Solicitors, Barristers or Legal Executives with relevant experience; ideally gained from within local government.

This role is for an initial 3-month on a full time basis, with the possibility of flexible working.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Managing a caseload of commercial contracts and EU procurement including giving advice on procurement documentation

  • Negotiating and drafting contracts

  • Provided legal support to all council departments, working closely with the 3 procurement departments from the outset of any project when buying goods and services

  • Advising on competition law by advertising projects so tenderers have a fair chance to express their interest in a service

  • Dealing with Information governance and administrative law including FOIA & DPA , Bribery & Corruption, Safeguarding, Copyright and Confidentiality Contracts
