Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – £35 to £40 per hour – West Midlands – Remote Working


Venn Group’s specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for a Locum Commercial Property Lawyer to join a forward thinking, established Local Authority in the West Midlands for an initial period of 3 months. This position is offered on a full-time locum basis with a predicted contract length of at least 3 months on a remote working basis with attendance in the office expected once lockdown is lifted.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive who holds a current practising certificate. Due to the nature of the role, experience within commercial property and agriculture would be beneficial but not essential.


Primary responsibility of this position will be to:

  • To provide high quality legal advice matters to client departments across the Council and to draft appropriate contract documentation

  • Handle a varied caseload of commercial property matters

  • Advising on all aspects of commercial property including leases, licenses, acquisitions, disposals and Landlord & Tenant matters

  • Dealing with disposals, involving working with partners in collaboration arrangements and overage & clawback agreements

  • Drafting all appropriate legal documentation, liaising with clients, external lawyers and other professionals

  • Prosecuting land related matters

This excellent opportunity offers an hourly rate of between £35 and £40 per hour Umbrella depending on experience.
