Permanent – Childcare Solicitor – £37,733 to £49,177 – East Anglia

 

Venn Group's specialist legal team are recruiting for a Permanent Childcare Solicitor for a Local Authority based in East Anglia on a full-time, 37 hour per week basis.

 

The successful applicant will provide innovative and pragmatic legal advice concerning a range of Children’s social care functions including in matters ranging from care proceedings, adoption and litigation.

 

The ideal candidate will be a currently practicing Solicitor or Barrister with experience of working within local government and of conducting proceedings under the Children’s Act 1989, the Adoption and Children Act 2002, judicial reviews and advocacy in the Family Courts.

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Providing legal advice on a range of Childcare matters including care proceedings and adoption to clients including elected members and Senior Officers

  • Attending courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required and to also to instruct and manager suppliers of external legal services such as solicitors and barristers

  • Advising upon and conducting proceedings relating to the care and protection of children and young people to secure the proper course of action and balanced and favourable judgements

  • Contributing to the development, training or mentoring of colleagues where required

  • Supervising other members of the team in a line management capacity where required

  • Deputising for the Principal Lawyer or the Head of Community Services Law and Litigation where required

This role is offering an attractive salary of £37,733 to £49,177 dependent upon experience.
