Venn Group’s specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a Local Authority legal team in the South West. The assignment is to start in September 2019 and offered for an initial period of 3 months, on either a part time or a full time basis.
The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of planning law and will have managed their own caseload of matters in a Local Government environment.
The day-to-day duties will include:
- Providing advice on a wide range of planning matters and developing income streams
- Advising and making recommendations to the senior management team regarding corporate governance and strategic projects to ensure the best possible outcomes for the authority
- Drafting and negotiating section 106 agreements
- Attending planning inquiries and Planning Committees when required
The position offers an attractive hourly rate of £35-£40 per hour and can offer a day or two homeworking after an initial period.
