Public Health Intelligence Analyst

Duration: 6 months on-going
We are currently working with a well-established public sector organisation who are needing the assistance of a Public Health Analyst – (Public Health, Intelligence and Governance) to join their Public Health Intelligence & Governance Team on an interim basis.
The role will provide senior officer level and project management surge capacity to this high profile team during our covid-19 emergency response phase. This role will be a key component of the test and trace function and will be required to provide specialist input to this work area. This role reports to the Service Manager; this role may be required to line manage a small number of staff.
This is a full-time role, for the next six to twelve months of the Covid-19 outbreak.
To provide specialist support for the delivery of the test and trace intelligence and governance function
Undertake and oversee highly complex statistical and epidemiological analysis of datasets, comparative statistics and trends over time
Present complex epidemiological and statistical information to a variety of audiences which will include both those with and without an understanding of statistical techniques
To provide specialist support for the daily, weekly and monthly surveillance reports and bespoke reports as required for different audiences
Collaborate with PHE and internal insight and intelligence partners to develop better understanding of C19 outbreak and incidents
Support responses to subject access, data breaches, freedom of information and other ad-hoc information requests in line with policy and legislative requirements
Knowledge and substantial experience of supporting areas such as information governance, data protection
Working knowledge of Information governance and Data Protection Act
Experience and understanding of clinical and corporate governance and risk management strategies
Substantial experience in health protection and outbreak response
Substantial experience and knowledge of incident and emergency situation management
Experience in community engagement practice for different audiences and communities
Understanding of incident response communication (proactive and reactive)
Experience of communication strategy delivery
