Temporary Rent Arrears Officer

Venn Group Social and Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for an interim Rent Arrears Officer for our Housing Association client based in Somerset to begin temporary employment within their team.

Location: Somerset
Contract Type: 3 Months +
Hours: 37.5 hours per week / Mon – Fri – 9am – 5pm (flexi hours)


  • Managing rent accounts for a patch of 1200 properties, a third of which will be dealing with universal credit cases
  • Act as the first point of contact for tenants and chase arrears via telephone and home visits
  • Ensure the relevant payments are made on time
  • Conduct home visits in connection with early debt intervention and set up payment plans fro outstanding debts
  • Deal with high level rent arrears and represent cases at court level
  • Prepare the relevant legal paperwork
  • Inform tenants on the appropriate benefit plans
  • Issue Notices of Seeking Possession including initial letters
  • Attend pre eviction and eviction visits

Essential Skills:

  • Have managed a similar patch size in recent roles
  • A driver with their own vehicle
  • Have represented at court level for rent arrears
  • Strong knowledge and experience of universal credit
