Job Description

Venn Group Social Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for a SEND Assistant Team Manager for a local authority based in Dorset to begin employment within their expanding team.

 

Location: Dorset

Contract Type: 3 months

Hours: 37hrs per week 

Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of vulnerable children and young people with special educational needs
  • Conduct regular reviews of the progress of and outcomes supporting the child or Young Person needs
  • Organise and implement training sessions through team activities or meetings
  • Represent Children’s Services at management and officer groups, external organisations and at meetings
  • Contribute to reducing risks to the health, safety and well-being of staff working
  • Build effective relationships within the team and across other teams
  • Attend meetings with schools/families
  • Assisting or leading further work to align process across the new LA
  • Provide professional assistance to the Team Leader
  • Help mentor, coach and guide staff members

 

Essential Skills:

 

  • Full UK drivers licence and access to own car
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SEND and child protection
  • Computer literate & experience of Outlook, Word and Excel
