A position has arisen for a Senior Administrator to join a large multinational banking and financial services institution. The Senior Administrator is responsible for the operational support, administration and maintenance of the bank’s enterprise IT messaging systems. This role is focussed upon ‘business as usual’ (BAU) support of the various technologies employed by the bank. Its purpose is to ensure that a reliable, resilient and secure messaging platform is available to our customers facilitating internal and external communication. The successful candidate will work within a discrete team of 4 based in London specialising in enterprise messaging. This team is part of a wider global IT infrastructure group with 25+ members, across 3 main locations.

Your duties will include:

  • Running the bank’s key enterprise scale IT Messaging systems (such as E-mail and Instant Messaging) which are deployed across EMEA and North America

  • Assisting in operationalising newly introduced technologies by ensuring effective monitoring, data backups and recoverability requirements are met

  • Documenting the new systems processes for incorporation into the system knowledge base

  • Supporting 2000+ users across the EMEA region

  • Supporting a broad range of messaging technologies including those from IBM (Domino/Lotus Notes) and Microsoft (EXO/Outlook/Skype/Teams

  • Managing a high-volume helpdesk queue and processing systems access requests

  • The role requires a strong focus on timely and proactive system support – by following process driven system checks and responding to system alerts and exceptions

  • Ensuring the environment is stable and highly available for business critical email function

  • Communicating with customers verbally and over email

  • Collaborating and communicating with the immediate DSG team and wider groups, such as IT Security, across the organisation

The successful candidate should have:

  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of MS Exchange Online / O365 platform (admin/t-shoot)

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows server (2012/16) and desktop (10) platforms

  • Good working knowledge of IBM Domino / Lotus Notes

  • Good working knowledge of SMTP protocol

  • Good knowledge of basic networking functions/ protocols - DNS/DHCP/MX etc

  • Good knowledge of working with virtualized technologies (VMware / Citrix)

  • Strong technical documentation writing skills

  • Powershell scripting

  • IQ Suite

  • Clearswift / Proofpoint Email Gateways

  • EMC SourceOne email archiving

  • eFax solutions
