Senior Analyst - Assurance

Based in: London (remote working)

Length of contract: 3 months (with possibility of extension)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

A Central Government organisation is seeking a Senior Analyst with expertise in the assurance of analysis. They will use their skills to order, interrogate and analyse data, and to produce advice to stakeholders, supporting the company in helping ensure decisions are based on sound evidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the team’s approach to quality assurance processes for analytical tools, and ensure this approach reflects recognised best practice within the organisation and the industry
  • Oversee audit and analysis of models across the team
  • Coordinate assurance and audit activity, defining strategy for range of analysis and making sure right analysts are in place for the team
  • Developing key contacts, ensuring analysis and models follow latest guidance
  • Take the lead on challenging and complex analytical projects, driving teams to deliver high quality outputs to agreed scope and deadlines
  • Develop and manage quality assurance processes for analytical tools, utilising internal and third party resource as appropriate
  • Make judgements on analytical robustness, according to the quality assurance standards
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, agreeing scope and deadlines
  • Engage with stakeholders/customers to outline analytical requirements for board-level communication, ensuring decision-making is influenced by appropriate evidence
  • Communicate project findings to key clients (including non-analysts)


  • Experience in delivering assurance around technical analysis, developing and providing assurance of analysis in high profile environments, notably a government department, partner body or commercial/consultancy environment under public or press scrutiny
  • Experience of interrogating and auditing models and databases
  • Ability to lead technical teams and managing others in financial analysis
  • Strong ability in using Excel and/or other tools used to produce analysis and manage complex/large datasets
  • Ability to work through tackling analytical issues independently, identifying and securing the stakeholder inputs required to give robust analytical advice
  • Ability to discuss complex analytical material with senior stakeholders and distil complex analysis into written documents for internal & external audiences
  • Produce effective presentations that facilitate the use of analysis to aid decision-making
  • Knowledge of general modelling techniques used to interrogate a range of input data, and identify trends or patterns
