Temporary Senior Building Services Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a Building Services Technician to work within a Grade 1 listed, public facing building in Cambridgeshire. This role is responsible for the maintenance, mechanical breakdowns and PPMs across the building, on a 6 month temporary ongoing basis

The successful candidate must have extensive HVAC, plumbing and heating knowledge on various heating/ventilation systems

Your duties will include:

  • Responsible for filling liquid nitrogen dewars for the Department
  • Responsible for the mechanical breakdowns and PPMs across a Grade 1 listed, public facing building
  • Work on various types of mechanical HVAC plant, chillers and commercial boilers
  • Understand the workings of all critical, specialist and non-specialist mechanical and electrical systems
  • Competently respond to emergency situations as they arise and monitor and adjust Building Management System in accordance with service requirements
  • Carry out and supervise water hygiene routines, ensuring the building log book and records are updated accordingly
  • Instruct Technician’s and contractors in safe working practices and oversee the issue of permits to work
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure fire safety and Health & Safety guidelines are followed

The successful candidate should have:

  • Extensive HVAC, plumbing and heating knowledge on various heating/ventilation systems
  • Experience of building maintenance within the public sector
