Urgent Requirement- Senior Surveyor (Conceptual Design) - £200 - 300 per day-Staffordshire

Venn Group is currently recruiting for an Senior Surveyor (Conceptual Design) for a large Estate based in Staffordshire. This role is a temporary post paying £200 - £300 a day  depending on experience.

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • To lead on the design for the delivery of 'Capital Projects' including space management, capital and minor project management, quality control and contract management using internal and external resources and expertise in-line with best practice to ensure projects are managed effectively and delivered in-line with approved budgets
  • To lead, manage and co-ordinate the delivery of Design for building works, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Cost Management, Project Management and Space Planning
  • To lead the design team on the Delivery of estate reconfiguration and improvement projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
  • Establishing project objectives, needs, and budget
  • To lead on the development of conceptual, feasibility, outline and detailed design proposals and drawings
  • To ensure drawings are all produced on AutoCAD and /or BIM e.g. Revit
  • Lead on the preparation of specifications for materials and finishes
  • Coordinating the design team including Services Engineers, Surveyors etc., to ensure all necessary project information is produced in a timely fashion
  • Preparing and presenting design proposals to colleagues and Executives and Board of Governors
  • Working with the Deputy Director and Head of Projects to design strategies for the future development of the estate in support of the organisation’s plans and priorities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent in a construction/ property design discipline (e.g Architecture, Building Surveying, Engineering, A relevant professional qualification (e.g. , ARIBA, MCIOB, MCIBSE)
  • Have experience of successfully leading a design team of professional staff in a construction or property services organisation
  • Hold an in-depth knowledge of public procurement and EU procurement law to ensure compliance
  • Be able to lead design projects from conception to completion and producing detailed design drawings for tender
  • Have experience of successfully managing construction tenders and commissioning specialist construction design services
  • Hold extensive practical experience and relevant technical knowledge in delivering successful capital projects and programmes of work on time and to budget
