Supported Housing Officer Vacancy

An excellent opportunity for a Supported Housing Officer has arisen within an established homeless charity to support clients with Complex Needs in a homeless hostel.


Type: Permanent

Location: Watford

Hours: Flexible shifts between 8am and 10pm, Monday – Sunday on a rota basis

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum (dependant on experience)


Main responsibilities in the role:

  • Manage a case load of service users within a homeless hostel with Complex Needs

  • Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks

  • Provide high quality housing support to residents, including person centred support plans, risk assessments, advice and guidance

  • Identify and advise residents of available personal development opportunities and activities

  • Organise a range of activities/training to promote positive behaviour and individual development in line with an individual’s identified needs and goals

  • Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti social behaviour and rent arrears

  • Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided at all times

  • Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements

  • Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies


Additional requirements:

  • Experience of providing tenancy support to vulnerable people, particularly clients with Complex Needs

  • An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain

  • Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
