Supported Housing Officer Vacancy

An established charitable organisation is currently looking to recruit a full-time Supported Housing Officerbased in the South Hertfordshire area on a temporary to fixed-term contract for 1 year. You will be responsible for a caseload of ex-rough sleepers who were moved into temporary accommodation during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

Hours: 37.5 a week(Hours are expected to be shifts from 10-6pm and 2-10pm on a rota basis including weekends and Bank Holidays which are paid at the standard rate except Christmas day)

Hourly Rate: £14.57 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

Driver: Non-essential, if you do drive it will cost you £3.00 per day to park

Start Date: Week commencing 29th June 2020

Main responsibilities in the role:

  • Working with a caseload of service users aged 18-59 within a homeless hostel

  • Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks

  • Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users

  • Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti social behaviour and rent arrears

  • Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting

  • Carry out regular estate inspections

  • Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements

  • Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies

  • Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups

 

  • Must have experience in tenancy sustainment, substance misuse and/or mental health

  • An enhanced DBS check from within the last 3 years or willingness to obtain a new one

  • Excellent communication skills and basic IT skills are essential
