Team Leader – Mental Health


An opportunity has arisen within a well-established charity as a Team Leader, overseeing a team of Support Workers and volunteers at a mental health service based in Watford. This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours a week.


Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday.

Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum (dependant on experience)


Main duties:


  • Take responsibility for making day to day decisions on operational and member matters, ensuring the effective running of the service

  • Communicate regularly with individuals that they support and their families and Social Workers

  • Promote the service within the local community and beyond to potential new service users, their supporters and other stakeholders

  • Lead on processing new referrals and have responsibility for the budget in conjunction with the Manager

  • Lead team meetings, and undertake staff and volunteer supervision

  • Assist in recruitment and induction of staff and volunteers

  • Be responsible for Health and safety within the team/location

  • Assisting with and carrying out internal audits in line with the Quality framework


Essential requirements:


  • Experience of working with individuals with complex and enduring Mental Health diagnosis

  • An enhanced DBS check is required for this role

  • Experience of supervising and motivating a team of Support staff

  • Driving license and access to a vehicle

  • QCF/NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent

  • Working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and adhering to health and safety practices
