A position has arisen for a Test and Evaluation Specialist within a large Defence organisation based in Yeovil, to support the DeliveryManager and the Technical Leads throughout the design and development of Synthetic Training Systems as well as interfacing with other members of the development team, including Customers and suppliers.


Successful candidates must have a valid SC clearance

Duties will include:

  • To coordinate the preparation for and execution of Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (TE&A) activities according to the project’s requirements as defined by the Technical Leads and Requirements Lead, for the ultimate delivery of high quality products, on time and to specification

  • Coordinating development and execution of Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) that will generate the evidence that demonstrates the compliance of a product or service to the System Requirements Specification (SyRS) and the contracted Stakeholder Requirements Document or Specification (cSRD/StRS)

  • Coordinating the conduct Verification and Validation (V&V) testing prior to dispatch of LH generated SW packages for integration into a training system in order to ensure that the delivered SW is of suitable quality and functionality

  • Coordinating execution of Formal Testing phases to including Bug Closure, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance and Delivery Testing (SAT & SDT)

  • Directing the execution of the ATP including the provision of Test Scripts and required test equipment to the test teams

  • Ensuring that Formal testing is fully documented

  • You may be asked to develop or support data gathering activities; either on aircraft or using engineering rigs, for which you can expect to execute scripts and record system behaviours


The successful candidate should have:

  • A valid SC clearance or be eligible for one

  • Experience of Software (SW) and Hardware (HW) testing methodologies at system, integration and acceptance testing levels

  • Knowledge of DOORS, SAP and CIETP

  • General knowledge of helicopter training and operations – both military and civil

  • Understanding the interactive software and testing lifecycles including unit, module, system and regression testing

  • Military air engineering experience
