Searching for a new role is often a daunting prospect, with pressure especially high if the job-seeker is not currently in work. Unfortunately there has been a significant rise in attempted fraud against individuals looking for employment, from those aiming to exploit people in these circumstances. As an agency that prides itself on good practice, Venn Group is delighted to have partnered with SAFERjobs in order to make its contribution to the campaign against job-related fraud.
SAFERjobs works alongside law enforcement and the government to protect job-seekers from becoming a victim of crime in this area. It offers a means of reporting any suspected fraudulent or unfair conduct, while also providing access to numerous resources to ensure job-seekers are informed as to what the warning signs of such activity are.
Any agency that partners with SAFERjobs must agree to abide by their Principles of Good Practice, which includes crucial points such as treating job-seeker information confidentially and only advertising jobs that they have permission to work on. Venn Group has always treated its responsibilities as an agency with the upmost priority, having also secured membership of the APSCo (Association of Professional Staffing Companies). However, adhering to an additional code of conduct can only work to reassure any prospective candidates and clients that we uphold the highest of professional standards.
Furthermore, SAFERjobs and Venn Group are linked by more than just their principles. Former MP Ben Howlett, who launched SAFERjobs in the House of Commons, is a Venn Group alumnus, having worked as a Recruitment Consultant before his career moved to politics. When speaking in Parliament, he referred to the importance of encouraging people in the UK to get on the employment ladder, and Venn Group is proud to play its part in doing this.
If you, or someone else you know, are looking for work at the moment, then please do get in touch. Venn Group’s consultants will be well placed to proactively, and responsibly, help with your search.
