Wanting to make the most of Venn Group’s volunteering opportunities for the year, Charley Payne approached Charlotte Moyle from MK Charities and enquired into causes that were in need of volunteers and physical support in the winter period. Knowing just the right opportunity, Charlotte linked Charley up with Curly Tails.

With 6 acres of land in the heart of Buckinghamshire, Curly Tails is a sanctuary for rescued pigs that have been mistreated, neglected, or abandoned when pet-owners were unaware of how large ‘micro’ pigs could become. Socialization is an important part of the pigs’ rehabilitation, and visits are regularly scheduled to help improve their wellbeing as well as supporting the mental health and confidence of children and adults with additional needs.

Earlier this week a group from Venn Group, led by Charley Payne, booted up and visited the sanctuary to spend the day volunteering. They began their time by feeding and watering the animals before getting stuck in with manual work and providing maintenance for the site.

Volunteering is greatly valued at Venn Group, and next year we look forward to providing further opportunities to support even more organisations.

Volunteering with Curly Tails was so much fun! It was hard work but very rewarding. They are an amazing charity that offer so much more than I expected; everyone was so welcoming and I can’t wait to go back! I love working for a company that allows me to use my time for good, and meeting colleagues from other offices is a great bonus too.
