Leeds Charity Partner | Zarach

​This year, Venn Group has committed to widening our charity partnerships to ensure we provide support to as many individuals and communities as possible.

Our Leeds office has chosen to support Zarach, an organisation providing necessities to children in poverty. They were drawn to this charity by the story of its foundations and the knowledge that the funds they raised would have a big impact. Bex Wilson, a deputy headteacher, initially began by raising money to help individual students who were falling asleep in classes as they did not have beds and basic essentials, but as support grew, Zarach was established.

Following the Jubilee celebrations, in which we raised over £800 as a company for our local charities, Leeds are embarking on a 10k run to raise funds for Zarach.

Our charity rep for Leeds, Alex Parcei, is enjoying partnering with the charity and driving the fundraising in the office: ‘I like to get involved and it was something I could do to help out.

‘Our Senior Manager, Johnny Shaw, suggested the Leeds 10k run, and a few of the group are keen runners, but there are also those of us who don’t really know what we’re doing. I ran home from work the other day and was chased up a tree by a Pitbull!

‘I never went into this wanting to get a record time, it would be an achievement if I can keep running throughout. Everybody in the office is behind us; given the opportunity people will get involved and do what they can to support us. It’s a win-win really, we can raise money for a good cause and have a laugh doing it.’
