Congratulations to Lauren Bate-Jones on her promotion to Business Services Manager.
We spoke to Lauren about her career with Venn Group.
What first drew you to a career at Venn Group?
After working in retail for many years, I wanted an office-based role in administration. A friend of mine worked for Venn Group and told me a bit about it and it seemed to tick all the boxes I was looking for.
What are some important characteristics for someone working in Business Services?
Organisation is key; having good organisational skills will stand you in good stead for any position within Business Services.
What do you enjoy most about the role?
I enjoy helping other people and supporting them, and being able to interact with a lot of people in the other offices!
Do you have a principle you live by?
Treat people with kindness.
What do you enjoy spending time doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my Fiancé & Family, I also spend a lot of time cooking and trying out new recipes!
What has been your proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement would be becoming Business Services Manager and seeing the business admin team grow.
What keeps you motivated?
My motivation comes from a desire to be continually developing and learning new skills, whether it be getting better at problem-solving, coaching other members of staff or working to tight deadlines – having this need to improve always keeps me motivated.
Best bit of advice in life or work?
Stay true to yourself and do what you love.
What are your goals for this next step as Business Services Manager?
My main goals are to continue developing what the Business Services team are capable of in order to make it the most efficient service it can be.
