Always meeting the demand for talent

City of Wolverhampton Council required two senior roles within their Commercial Finance department. After their permanent campaigns and vendor suppliers were unable to meet the demand, our expertise and extensive talent network were enlisted to fulfil the requirements.

Priorities supported:

  • Recruit an interim Head of Finance and Finance Manager to support capital projects

  • Retain two candidates with in-depth project expertise combined with local government experience

  • Partner with a specialist recruitment consultancy outside of the managed vendor, with a track record of high-quality professional supply

Experience applied:

  • Appreciating the niche combination of local government finance and project experience, we launched a far-reaching search to match this permutation of skills

  • With a capacity team specialising in local government, we were able to run both searches concurrently, ensuring equal focus was placed on both

  • Our previous successful recruitment campaign for a Head of Technical Accounting assured our referral for these current positions

Outcomes achieved:

  • Supplied within a week, our shortlist of three candidates was provided to the client with the combination of local government, project and management expertise

  • After interviewing all our candidates, the end-to-end process for both roles was completed in three weeks

  • Our previous experience with the city council empowered us to effectively counteract offers received by these in-demand professionals, as we knew that the nature of the project experience gained in role would accelerate their post-contract careers
