This is a dynamic, vibrant area that has seen huge economic growth over the last few years; particularly within Finance, Healthcare and Technology. It has become a popular relocation area for both the private and public sectors, attracting a wide variety of businesses and headquarters into the major cities, feeder towns and industrial areas. The region’s economic strength has kept unemployment rates amongst the lowest in the country and has an expected growth of 55% over the next 30 years.

A new “world class” university is to be built in Central Milton Keynes; to be called MK:U. This will house at least 5,000 students and be open by 2023. The council, which has invested around £10m in the scheme, has already approved a partnership with Cranfield University to lead the project. Santander has also unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art new campus in Milton Keynes to support its long-term growth strategy, representing an investment in excess of £150m in the town. The new Milton Keynes site will act as the bank’s UK technology hub, and alongside the new university will deliver a boost for the Government’s vision for the Cambridge-Milton-Keynes “growth corridor”, nurturing the UK’s most innovative industries.
