Louise Francis

​My story with Venn Group is an interesting and unusual one. I joined in March 2021, having previously been a professional Musical Theatre performer touring across the UK from 2019 to 2024. My last show was Jesus Christ Superstar, where I was a lead singer and understudy for the lead role. I joined Venn following the closing of my show at the time Beautiful: The Carole King Musical due to Covid, initially focusing on resourcing and building strong relationships with legal candidates across the UK. I helped the team place numerous vacancies with the most suitable people – and quickly realised I loved the rush of the Public Sector Legal world.

Between 2021 and 2024, I alternated between performing in musicals for 6 months and returning to Venn, coming back 4-5 times in total! Over those years, my role evolved from resourcing and compliance to building relationships with clients and experiencing the full recruitment process from start to finish, working alongside Heads of Legal and helping them fill key vacancies which was incredibly rewarding.

In 2024, I returned to Venn on a full-time, permanent basis after retiring from performing. Coming back has been an incredible experience, and I’ve loved building a strong foundation with my fantastic clients and candidates. One of my favourite things about working here is the positive, supportive environment – colleagues, clients and candidates alike make this job both rewarding and fun.

I specialise in Non-Contentious Legal Interim roles. I enjoy this market because it allows me to be highly focused in my specialism, really understanding the areas of law I recruit for, and ensuring I can source the best candidates for my clients and the most suited roles for my candidates.

Outside of work, I play netball three times a week (I absolutely love it!) practise yoga and go to sound baths and enjoy a good self-help or non-fiction book – I love learning, even at 29!

I’m incredibly grateful to work on the Public Sector Legal team and connect with such a close-knit market of talented people. I look forward to connecting further at conferences and events in 2026 and beyond.
