I started my career at Venn Group in June 2010 as a Consultant on the Managed Vendor IT team in London. Through Venn Group’s industry leading training programme and continuous management support, I was encouraged to follow my entrepreneurial spirit and was given the chance to fully utilise my training and demonstrate the skills required to build and grow successful business relationships with both my client and candidate networks. This provided me with the opportunity to play a key role in growing and shaping our Local Government division, which included recruiting and training staff to build teams. Through the success and the growth of our Local Government business I achieved promotions to Executive Consultant, then Manager and most recently to Senior Manager where I now manage multiple successful teams responsible for a range of key services including Technology, Change & Transformation, Public Health & Social Care, Strategic Commissioning and Corporate Services.
I am passionate about my sector and I’m proud to have contributed to delivering and transforming key public services whilst respecting the public purse. This has involved delivering best in class recruitment solutions and also delivering innovative and specialist statement of work consultancy services. I look forward to the road ahead which no doubt will involve delivering more within ever challenging budgets!
Along the way I have had incredible support from the business in terms of training and support, personal and career development opportunities. Venn Group recognise endeavour and success and I have always been grateful for the recognition I have received for both my individual successes and the success of my teams over the years, from Consultant of the Month awards to consecutive Top Biller celebration lunches as both Consultant and Manager in some of the best restaurants (usually high up in one of the iconic buildings in the London skyline). Having said that, it has been the personal messages of support from staff on teams across the whole business, all the way up to our CEO, which have been most rewarding.
During my time at Venn Group my life outside of the office has also developed. I enjoy a beer (or two…) and good food with friends (of whom many are colleagues). I have travelled to countries around the world including North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. I was able to secure a mortgage and buy my first home and despite a pandemic I was also able to get married, welcome a puppy into our home and even see Brentford get promoted to the premiership!
