Interim Children’s Commissioner – 0-19
Location: London, mostly remote
Length: 6 months initially

An opportunity has arisen with one of our local government clients for an interim Children’s Commissioner to redesign their 0-19 healthy child programme. Given the tight timescales, the successful candidate must have 0-19 subject matter knowledge and have commissioned services before.
Role responsibilities of the Interim Children’s Commissioner – 0-19 include:
- Redesigning the 0-19 service by looking at needs assessment and evidence, understanding what is currently in place and undertaking some service improvement of existing services
- Consulting with families and thinking cohesively around the needs of service users
- Looking at how the service can maximise voluntary sector engagement and reduce the impact of poverty in the borough
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, public health, education, social care, NHS, voluntary sectors and schools
The Interim Children’s Commissioner – 0-19 will have:
- Demonstrable subject matter expertise of 0-19 children’s services
- Previous experience of working within a local government or health organisation
- Strong commissioning and service redesign experience
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work to tight timescales
- Superb oral and written communication skills and outstanding organisational skills
