Role: 2nd Line Support Engineer
Type: Temporary
Duration: 6 months initially
Start date: ASAP
Pay rate: £150/day outside IR35
Location: Birmingham – onsite; Mon-Fri
Key duties:
- In-depth knowledge of hardware, primarily Dell PC’s and Laptops
- Resolve IT User issues over telephone, email, or via remote access
- Working knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 operating systems, MS Office365, and other associated accessories
- Strong communications skills, relaying technical information to non-technical persons
- The ability to quickly establish good working relationships with clients
- Employ Active Directory and Group Policy to manage/configure user accounts
- Triage and resolve complex IT situations and issues, escalating when necessary
Further requirements:
- Up-to-date knowledge of IT and software trends
- The ability to work well with people from all backgrounds
- The ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Meticulous logging / updating of service tickets, and effective prioritisation skills
