- These workstreams will be driven by both local priorities and national policy reforms through the DfE SEND and Alternative Provision Change Programme
In line with national policy and expectations under the Change Partnership Programme (CPP), the council is committed to implementing a three-tier model of AP. The key focus of the 3-tier model is for AP to be used an intervention (rather than a destination), where children and young people will be supported to remain in mainstream education where possible and receive targeted support to meet their needs. This approach will see vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils receiving ‘the right support at the right time and in the right place’, with more children remaining in mainstream.
