Interim Assistant Director of Communications
Based in London hybrid working

We are supporting a London Borough in recruiting to an Assistant Director of Communications to help deliver a major campaign within the Borough and making it an even better place to live.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Assistant Director of Communications:
- Project management and creative direction for a major campaign encouraging pride in the Borough, showcasing partnership between the council and residents, and involving residents directly in helping make this borough an even better place to live
- Mentoring and coaching staff to deliver creative yet strategic comms and ensure an ongoing and developing narrative across channels and platforms
- Responsible for developing and overseeing planning, monitoring & evaluation and reporting mechanisms
- Oversee media buying, agency delivery and content plans
- Deputisation for the Corporate Director of Communications and Campaigns
Key Skills required of the Interim Assistant Director of Communications:
- Significant experience of developing and delivering local and/or national campaigns
- Solid leadership credentials, preferably but not necessarily exclusively in local or national government
- Political sensitivity and political savvy
- Excellent project management skills and experience across complex areas of delivery
- An inspiring task manager and leader of teams, particularly in contexts without direct line management of all members of the team in question
- Knowledge of media relations, digital, design & print, media buying
