A local authority is seeking an Assistant Director of Street Operations to lead, manage and develop exceptional, high quality, high performing good value and efficient front-line operations and services in support of the council’s priorities.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Street Operations
- Proactively lead on the development and implementation of several identified service-improvement projects
- Lead on all aspects of operational service delivery, key project delivery and service improvement programmes to support the Council’s key environmental commitments
- Exercise responsibility for the delivery of statutory obligations, act, and operate to the highest standards in accordance with the council’s plans
- Co-ordinate the development and delivery of evidenced based strategies, action plans and annual service/business plans for services and teams
- Deliver better outcomes for residents and the borough and improved performance through the development and delivery of service improvement initiatives
- Manage operations to be responsive to customers and residents including active resident engagement in the borough’s environmental performance to reduce littering and fly-tipping
- Develop and maintain effective external and professional relationships and partnerships to support improved service and programme delivery
- Implement an innovative, evidenced based programme of continuous service improvement using best practice such as introducing digital innovation, challenging business processes
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Assistant Director of Street Operations
- Experience operating a large and complex environmental and operational setting
- Understanding of environmental legislation and expertise in managing high performing, front line waste and recycling and broader environmental services across the borough
- Experience in transformation of operational services by driving continuous improvement through the embedding of analysis and performance
