Venn Group is currently recruiting for a Category Manager on behalf of a reputable Public Sector organisation based in Birmingham. This is an interim contract for 3 – 6 months (with chance to extend), offering a daily rate of £200 – £220 Umbrella.
Working from home in the immediate future however, a mix of home and office based will be required when permitted to do so.
Duties:
- Sourcing initiatives that are primarily categories with low levels of spend, complexity, risk and sensitivity
- Responsibility for other types of categories for the purposes of development and workload allocation
- Apply knowledge or experience in principles and concepts related to sourcing and contract management
- Planned and executed project timelines for assigned categories, with guidance from their manager
- Translating objectives into project planning priorities, create and manage work plans and timelines for multiple projects and priorities, finalising negotiations in the timeframe designated for the project
- Responsibility for the sourcing process for their assigned categories, including market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development & validation, SQ, RFP/ITT, contract negotiations, and contract launch
- Presenting category strategies and final awards to internal stakeholders for review and discussion, prior to being validated by members
- Delivering quality presentations to customers
- Undertaking a pre- assessment of award scenarios and utilises outputs to inform sourcing strategies for assigned categories
