We are currently supporting a West Midlands based council with an Interim Senior Category Manager (People) requirement. This role will lead procurement operations and activity within Adults and Children’s social care, ensuring best value and compliance across all processes.
Interim Senior Category Manager (People)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3-6 Months Initially (likely extension)
Rate: £500 per day inside IR35 Umbrella
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days on site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver procurement operations and activity, including tenders and mini competitions via frameworks
- Support delivery of savings and efficiencies (cashable and non-cashable)
- Ensure all contracts awarded are recorded on the Contract Register and stored digitally
- Support delivery of the Forward Procurement Plan
- Ensure all procurement activity has a Procurement Plan and delivers best value for residents
- Learn and support innovative procurement procedures
Requirements:
- Public sector procurement experience within Local Authorities
- Experience in Adults and Children’s social care procurement
- Strong understanding of procurement frameworks and compliance
